Policies and Procedures
Check Sheets
Check sheets are a form of communication between the homeroom teachers and the parents/guardians. Each week the check sheet will be filled out to indicate checks for academics (missing assignments, lack of materials, etc.) and behavior (tardy to class, disruptive behavior, etc.). The check sheet will then be sent home every Monday in the green folder. We ask that all parents/guardians initial the checksheets to indicate they have seen it and return it in the green folder. After 5 checks, the student will receive an after school detention (day and time TBD). After 10 checks, the student will receive an after school detention. After 15 checks, the student will receive an after school detention, there will be a team conference with the parent, student, administration, teacher, and the student will have to attend Saturday school (dates and times TBD). If the student continues to receive checks and goes beyond 15, he/she will then begin to miss out on the middle school activities that have been planned for this year.
Green Folders
Green folders are another form of communication that we use. They will be sent home every Monday. Please be sure to take a close look inside the folders as you will find papers such as checksheets, monthly calendars, weekly newsletters from Mr. G, permission slips, etc. It is important that students bring the green folders back in a timely fashion to ensure we have them for the following week.
Homework/Quizzes/Tests
Students will be given a planner to write in the letter day for each day of the week and to keep track of homework, quizzes, and tests among other important information as the school year goes on. Every Monday in each class, students will copy down all homework, quizzes, and tests they will have in their classes. Please be sure to check students planners to see that they have all of their work completed and are preparing for upcoming quizzes and tests. Quizzes and tests will also be on the calendar page of the website titled Quiz and Test Calendar. Students should NEVER be surprised when there is homework, or a quiz, or a test in class.
Semester Exams
At the end of the second quarter students will have a semester exam in each class. It is important they keep all of the work from each class to help them prepare for their exams. Exam dates and schedules are TBD.
